Sensationalized title aside, African-Americans have a bit of a debt of gratitude to antebellum slave owners. Sure, they were grossly abusive, treated the slaves like animals, forced them into unreal amounts of labor, but they did that to them. Not to the modern black person. The modern black American, without the slave owner, would more than likely be living in a third world country. Outside the slave trade, there was not a significant amount of emigration out of Africa. Sure, your forefathers suffered, but lucky you they did. Because you like running water, Wal*mart, and everyone's inalienable right to childhood obesity.
